I bought this for my five year old niece. Given, I do think this is way too old for a five year old, but her mum allows her to sometimes wear makeup so I knew she would enjoy this gift. She was using it as soon as she opened it. I think she loved the way it made her feel grown up. A great gift for indoor role play
