| Customer Reviews: Fantastic Walle Interactive Toy June 11, 2009 G. Reid (Scotland)
Great item, works great with Interactive Eva! Fast Delivery, Great Price, Very Happy!
Must have for Wall-E fans. February 21, 2009 C. Chambers (Stockholm, Sweden.) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
All Wall-E's (ET on tank tracks) are cute but this one would melt the heart of a stone statue. His vocabulary is a little limited so, after a few sessions, you can interview him and amaze your friends and family. When you speak to him, in the non interactive mode, he blinks as his inbuilt microphone picks up the sound of your voice. Sometimes, he starts the "I'm going to sleep" mode with a bell clanging or chiming away, just as he does in the movie. It is not a good idea to shout at him "Don't go to sleep on me you garbage compacting robot!" (as if you would) because he reacts just as he does to any loud sounds - he trembles and shakes and makes very distressed robot sounds until you say quietly, "Sorry Wall-E, I didn't mean to frighten you', And if you feel a right wally, talking to a small kid's toy, then I feel sorry for you because you haven't let the kid that is in all of us out enough. Overall, this is a great addition to your Wall-E collection and if you pair him with the love of his life - the Interactive EVE, just watch the pair of them canoodling. I challenge anyone to watch these two and not have a smile on their face. Bad points - well, yes, I think it is a bit mean of Thinkway Toys to have this Wall-E only 'push along'. For the price they could have left his belt drive motors in. His body size is identical to the IR rempte version but it seems as if the manufacturers always leave something out. On the smaller IR remote-controlled version, for example, Wall-E's eye's don't light up (send me an email and I'll tell you how to fix this) as they do on this model and on the much larger version. No, not 'The Ultimate Wall-E' all $289 of him from the US Disney or $40 cheaper from US Toys-R-Us only sold in America, but the 'U-Command' model with the twelve button and a joystick IR controller. There really is only one thing wrong with all of the mechanical Wall-E's and their friends - they are much too good for small children - too fragile and they don't bounce if dropped. I guess that is why they have soft and cuddly versions of both Wall-E and EVE. Oh, and none of them do what they were built for - they won't collect and compact garbage! I'm building my collection for my grandson but he won't get them until he's old enough to really appreciate them. Until then, I'm really having fun. Five *'s
